Write the word journals

Are you looking for a helpful tool to aid and enrich your time in the Word?

I have been using Write the Word Journals from Cultivate What Matters for years and I love them! Why?

  1. They help me instantly get into the Word. My very first step is to open the journal and the Word and begin reading the designated passage. I often read more - the verses before and after often pull me in. This helps me get context and clarity on the passage and often leads to deeper study.

  2. Writing the passage in my own handwriting helps me to slow down and ponder what the writer said. Each word comes alive. New connections are made and I gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Word.

  3. Recently, I’ve been using the gratitude section to write a reason I’m praising God based on the insight that I gained from the passage. I start the sentence with “Lord, I praise you for” and then I write an attribute of God or blessing from God that I see in the passage that I can be grateful for. Then, I expand on this insight on the journaling page provided. This has really enriched my time in the Word.

I highly recommend these journals. They help me have structure and routine in my pursuit of time with the Lord. If you’d like to give them a try, click the link to get started. If you’re looking for a place to start, try the Fruit of the Spirit journal. I’m currently working through the Psalms volume.

Let me know if you give it a try! Or if you’ve tried them before, let me know what you think.
